Mine-Explorer is the central resource for anyone interested in exploring the many disused mines found throughout Great Britain. As well as a huge database of mines with tens of thousands of photographs, maps and trips reports, we have a very active and friendly community discussion forum where novice and experienced explorers alike get together and socialise.
Registering with Mine-Explorer is totally free and gives access to many more photos and documents not available to guest users, and also allows participation in the forum.
If you're new to this hobby, please ensure that you've read our White Paper on Starting Mine Exploration before attempting to venture underground.

 One of the many uses of slate: A lovely slate fence between Rhosydd and Cwmorthin and characteristic of the area.
